Sad Dad

For the benefit of readers still unaware of SAD DAD, he is a reclusive artist who rarely gives interviews. However, today is your lucky day as I was fortunate enough to meet up with SAD DAD himself for this exclusive Working Title interview, which was unfortunately cut short due to reasons which will be made clear later.

Due to SAD DAD being infamously camera shy, very few people have had a chance to see what he looks like in person, and I was therefore unsure what to expect. However, on arriving at his chosen rendezvous I was quite taken aback by the character I had come face to face with. “Don’t describe my appearance” were the first words that came out of his mouth and in order to stay true to my word I will not say more than that he is a human man. Sort of. He was clearly nervous but after some casual questions he began to open up. He talked of himself as an “artist” and “collector”, being particular to differentiate his “collecting” from that of “collectors of collections”. In other words, he creates collections that others collect. I then made the mistake of confronting him with the opinions of his critics who claim that all of his work is simply photographs of things that look like penises and that he is a pervert. And with that he decided to end the interview, but just as he started to walk away he turned around to me with the last words anyone will hear from him for a while: “Remember to type my name in capitalised comic sans”.
